The staff and doctors at Maine Nephrology held a week long World Kidney Awareness event at the office. We offered pamphlets discussing diabetes and hypertension associated with kidney disease. We set up stations in our waiting room. We offered a “World Kidney Week Quiz Challenge”, recipes of the day, and posters that had information about diabetes, hypertension, and smoking prevention. Finally, we offered different low calorie, low fat, low sodium recipes with samples available.
