World Kidney Day is being celebrated at the Royal Adelaide Hospital on Thursday 8th of March 2018 at 10:00 AM to 2:00 pm ACDT For the first time, multiple teams from – The Central and Northern Adelaide Renal and Transplant Service, Kidney Health Australia, Donate Life SA, The ANZDATA Registry Kidney Transplant Diabetes Research Australia, and the Hospital Research Foundation – all come together to promote message of kidney health, kidney disease, organ donation and transplantation to the public Dr Shilpa Jesudason, Clinical Director of Kidney Health Australia will be on Adelaide ABC 891 radio in the David Bevan’s Mornings Show on Tuesday, March 6th, 2018 to talk about Kidney Health Week and World Kidney Day Stalls are being organized by the respective teams to share and inform the public on kidney disease. There will be a demonstration of various therapies available for patients with advanced kidney failure. Visitors can have blood pressure checked. Various information booklets and pamphlets will be available to patients and public for information on kidney disease and its treatment. Public talks focusing on women’s kidney health and Kidney Research are also organized where kidney patients talk about their experience living with kidney disease as well as kidney health experts talk on kidney disease and pregnancy and kidney research.
