Every year, Izumozaki Town Hall hold a free lecture presentation on CKD on the second Sunday in March. This year, the lecture highlight the importance of a combination of healthy lifestyle, including abstaining from smoking, maintaining a BMI of 25 kgm 2 or lower, consuming alcohol moderately, exercising regularly and having a healthy diet, to prevent not only CKD but also other noncommunicable diseases such as coronary heart disease, type 2 diabetes mellitus, stroke, sudden cardiac death, cancer, and dementia.
