International Women and World Kidney Day organized: Female organ donors honored

On the occasion of International Women’s Day and World Kidney Day program on March 9, 2024, a seminar was organized by Kidney Patients Welfare Society in collaboration with Rotary Club Jaipur Royal and Manipal Hospital at Rotary Bhawan Jaipur on the topic “Kidney Disease – Prevention and Treatment”.

More than 10 female organ donors were honored in the program, who have given a new life to a loved one by donating their organs. Society President Harshvardhan Singh said, “It is a matter of pride for us that on the occasion of International Women’s Day, we are honoring all those women who have given a new life to someone by donating a part of their body. Currently, most of the organ donations are being done by women, and we all should appreciate their contribution.

Dr. Shyam Sundar Noval told that today 10 percent of the world’s population is suffering from kidney disease in some form or the other due to unorganized daily routine and eating habits. In the last few years, the number of Indian youth suffering from kidney disease has increased rapidly, which is is a matter of concern.
