a. Walkathon: On 10rd March, we teamed up with members of IAP Pune Branch and walked through Saras Baugh amidst those out for their morning constitutional, armed with banners and fliers with information regarding measures that can help protect little kidneys.
b. Awareness program for parents: We seized the opportunity of having a ready audience of parents and caretakers in the OPD waiting area. Our team of medical social worker, trainee doctors and consultants did role plays stressing the importance of detecting kidney diseases and need of regular follow up. We explained with colorful banners the ‘healthy’ foods and ‘unhealthy’ foods, functions of the kidneys, and testing of urine for proteins at home etc. A quiz session was conducted for children which received enthusiastic participation.
