Thursday, March 10, 2022, countries and cities all over the world will celebrate with the theme “Kidney Health for All – Bridge the gap to better kidney care.”. This year’s theme aims to focus on increasing education and awareness about kidney health to bridge the persistent and ongoing CKD knowledge gap at all levels of healthcare. I am then planning to organize a program and invite the dietitian of Diakonessenhuis and maybe doctors for a series of lectures if possible. This includes but is not limited to giving short enriching lectures to our patients as well as health workers with regards to the proper care of our kidneys. In addition, part of the dietitian’s lecture would be the foods allowed and foods avoided for our ongoing dialysis patients as well as some general diet management for diabetes and hypertension. A question and answer portion and further discussions will also be done afterwards so queries about proper kidney diet and do’s and don’ts’ can be addressed. Moreover, I am planning to also print out some leaflets and/or brochures that contain all the information discussed during the lectures and be given out to the patients and health workers.
