The HU-UFMA Nephrology Service conducted two campaigns to celebrate WKD’19. On 14th March, a multidisciplinary team formed by professionals and academics from the HU performed 260 appointments at the Hospital, with measurement of blood pressure, blood glucose check, anthropometric measures and guidelines provided by Nutritionists and Nephrologists. On 16th March activities were carried out in the remaining community of quilombo Itamatatiua, in the municipality of Alcântara/Maranhão, focusing on medical care for hypertensive and diabetic patients, as well as guidance on prevention of renal diseases for the community.
