World Kidney Day 2018 was celebrated at Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC), Shimla. A function was organized by the Department of Nephrology in which Prof. Ashok Sharma, Principal IGMC was the Chief Guest and was attended by faculty, residents, medical and nursing students, technical and nursing staff of the dialysis unit. Dr. Sanjay Vikrant, Professor & Head, Department of Nephrology gave a talk on theme of WKD 2018 –Women and Kidney Diseases. He talked about importance of women’s health and specifically their kidney health, on the community, and the next generations and need to promote affordable and equitable access to health education, healthcare and prevention for kidney diseases for all women and girls in the world. A poster competition was organised for the students of B. Sc. (Renal Dialysis Technology) on this occasion.
