Two different events were done.
Event I: (done on 08.03.14) Screening of 155 persons, above 60 years of age, (destitutes) residing in old age homes for hypertension, diabetes and kidney disease (BMI, BP, urine analysis, Blood sugar, ure & creatinine were done. Results were analysed and feed back and follow up advice was given to all the screened population
Event II: (on 13.03.14): A public interactive programme was organised at Madras Medical college — about 150 people, most of them elderly attended the meeting. a panel of Nephrologists, urologists and Geriatrician answered the queries of the public on various issues related to kidney and urinary tract. A pamphlet in local language (Tamil) emphasising on Do’s and Dont’ s pertaining to kidneys was issued.
