Shanghai Society of Nephrology Association held a online conference on March 11th, 2021 to launch 8th Shanghai Kidney Week city-wide campaign the theme of “Kidney Health for Everyone Everywhere – Living Well with Kidney Disease ”, advocated by World Kidney Day 2021.

On March 11th，Shanghai Society of Nephrology held a conference with the name of “16th World Kidney Day& 8th Shanghai Kidney Week”as the opening ceremony of a city-wide campaign.Professor Ming-Tan,Executive Vice President and Secretary General of Shanghai Medical Association,Professor Gengru-Jiang，President of Shanghai Society of Nephrology，advocated for public attention to kidney health management，with the theme of “Kidney Health for Everyone Everywhere – Living Well with Kidney Disease”, in order to both increase education and awareness about effective symptom management and patient empowerment, with the ultimate goal of encouraging life participation. In this week, nephrologists from major tertiary hospitals in shanghai will provide free clinic,health consultation,popular science lectures and patients gatherings in downtown and suburbs,in order to raise public awareness of kidney health and to increase awareness and education to facilitate access to treatment and better health. Ensuing life participation is equally important for both patients and their care-partners, as opposed to feeling consumed and constrained by the current approach to treating kidney disease.
