SCIENTIFIC CONFERENCE “To delay CKD is REAL”

We are intended to celebrate World Kidney Day by arranging Scientific Conference called “To delay CKD is REAL” that will be held on 14th March, 2024 in the Novotel hotel, Almaty. 

This event is committed to increase awareness, advocate preventing methods and enhance practical skills in the provision of kidney health care. 

The primary focus lies in an extensive information campaign conducted across social media platforms. Students from the Nephrology Department, under the guidance of their mentors, have created a plethora of content tailored for platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, Tik-Tok and others. These informative posts will delve into the major role of kidneys within the human anatomy, early diagnostic measures, and various methodologies for identifying kidney pathologies, particularly Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD). Additionally, there will be videos emphasizing the importance of managing diabetes and hypertension, along with the consequential impacts on kidney health.

Lecturers from Kazakh National Medical University, Research Institute of Cardiology and Internal Diseases and Kazakh Dialysis society will take part and demonstrate various informative presentations about Kidney health.  The lectures will possess instructional content tailored for endocrinologists, cardiologists, and therapists, as they are the primary specialists involved in managing conditions predisposing individuals to Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD).

Patients with various diseases, in particular with chronic kidney diseases, are also invited to the conference. In addition to lectures, they’ll be provided by specific renal-educational materials to learn about kidney protection and about how to delay dialysis. 

Moreover, to attract public attention, young medical professionals will actively participate in a 10-kilometer running marathon. In a display of solidarity and advocacy, marathon participants will wear  T-shirts embellished with the emblem of World Kidney Day (WKD).

The day will conclude with a dinner gathering for all attendees of the scientific event.
