The SKAW 2020 campaign focus: “KIDNEY HEALTH FOR ALL SAMOANS”
The Samoa Kidney Awareness Campaign 2020 will be commemorated from MONDAY 9th March 2020 to FRIDAY 13TH March 2020.
PROPOSED ACTIVITIES & PROGRAMS:
1. AWARENESS & SCREENING OUTREACH
● MEDIA PROMOTIONS
● COMMUNITY OUTREACH – HEALTH EDUCATION & SCREENING
2. NKFS COMMUNITY DAY
The SKAW 2020 campaign aims to target all Samoans in both rural and urban communities.
All media outlets will be utilized to promote and publicize the Awareness Campaign to encourage people to participate, be informed & be educated about the kidneys & Kidney health.
The general public especially the high risk population who have diabetes, hypertension, gout, obesity etc, will be invited to be screened for CKD as well as encouraged to participate in the various SKAW 2020 health promotion activities over the 3 days prior to the WKD Thursday 12th March 2020 until the end of March.
Panellists for Live media programs (Radio & TV) will include designated NKF staff & Hemodialysis patients who will be invited & briefed to participate as panellist & actors in the production of any media item.
