World kidney day 2018 was observed with lot of enthusiasm and dedication in Deccan Institute of Nephrology and Transplantation. Three hundred renal patients and their families participated. Ever since the World Kidney Day program was started in the year 2006 internationally, our hospital has been conducting the program regularly on a yearly basis.
Topics discussed include this year’s theme Women and CKD.
Other topics discussed included Delaying progression of Chronic Kidney Disease with the help of Ketoanalogue Supplemented Low Protein diet, Different modes of Dialysis including Domiciliary Hemodilaysis and Renal Transplantation.
A QUIZ program on Kidney diseases was conducted for the patients and prizes were distributed to the first five winners.
Entertainment program included local version of Raffle game called TAMBOLA for the patients and musical program by Blind Singers and Blind Musicians of Louis Memorial Trust.
