To address issues of late referral and ignorance about kidney diseases and care we would be conducting year long teaching programmes which would include filling knowledge gaps amongst pediatricians about basic kidney diseases, resolving myths, teaching basic algorythms, and importance of early care to prevent morbidity of various kidney diseases. Few zones have been identified where the teaching programme would be conducted in association with local pediatric body. It would be a day long programme. We envisage to conduct at least one programme a month.
This would go a long way in addressing issues of delayed initiation of treatment and referral, improving kidney care and ultimately translating into better patient care.
We would be collecting feedback on a pre designed proforma.
Jaipur where we are placed is a tertiary care teaching institute where patients from various surrounding and far off areas visit for consultation.
We are also conducting an inter collegiate quiz on nephrology for pediatric residents.
