To mark the 8th World Kidney Day on 14 March 2013, the Ananthapuri Hospitals and Research Institute organised a free Kidney Disease Screening camp for persons with risk factors for kidney disease. Several check-up stations were set up at the hospital to facilitate clinical examination of BP, blood and urine, followed by detailed diagnosis and counselling by their team of Nephrology experts. The overwhelming response to this awareness programme was by itself a positive acknowledgement to the organisers.
There was also a Continuing Medical Education (CME) programme organised for their doctors and nursing staff. The highlight of this session was the in-depth deliberations on acute kidney injury by Dr R Kasi Visweswaran MD.DM(Nephro),FRCP(Edin) and Dr Lekha Hrishikesan MD.DCH.DNB(Paed).DM.DNB(Nephro),MRCP(UK), FRCPCH.
The Paediatric Nephrology Unit of Ananthapuri Hospitals under Dr Lekha has planned an interactive educative session for parents of children with kidney diseases, on Saturday, 06 April 2013 from 11:00 AM to 01:00 PM at the hospital.
