KD Prevention – Urine Test Strips in Faculty

Continuing the activities of the “Kidney Week”, the Nephrology Student Group performed Urine Test Strips for the student community of the Medicine Faculty in the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León.

Similar to the activity in the Hospital a day before, the members recollected medical data from the students, especially to identify risk factors for Kidney Disease. Luckily no students presented with proteins in the urine, a few had high leucocytes and one presented hematuria (who was advised to schedule an appointment). The members also checked for Glucose levels and measured blood pressure.
