Celebrating World Kidney Day
The Scarborough Hospital (TSH) is recognizing World Kidney Day on March 13, and the hospital’s Nephrology team is inviting everyone to join the celebration.
The goal of World Kidney Day is to raise awareness of the importance of our kidneys, and how they are essential in supporting our overall health. The day also aims to reduce the frequency and impact of kidney disease and its associated health problems worldwide.
TSH has one of the largest Nephrology programs in North America and is home to many experts in the area of chronic kidney disease. Drop by the hospital’s General campus Auditorium on March 13 for the following presentations:
• 11 a.m. – Dr. Paul Tam, Medical Director of TSH’s Chronic Disease Management Program, Opening Remarks
• 11:10 a.m. – Ethel Doyle, Director of TSH’s Chronic Disease Management Program, Ontario Renal Network (ORN) Update
• 11:40 a.m. – Dr. Tabo Sikaneta, Nephrologist, Research Highlights
• 12:10 p.m. – Dr. Janet Roscoe, Nephrologist, Aging and Chronic Kidney Disease
Participants will also learn about all the services offered by TSH’s Nephrology team and enjoy the Nephrology Recognition Award Ceremony. A light lunch will be served.
