World Kidney Day provides the perfect opportunity to raise awareness of the importance of our kidneys to our overall health. We, as members of the Gulhane Military Medical Academy, have made use of this opportunity and opened a stand in order to raise people’s awareness of kidney health. With a view to celebrating the anniversary of the World Kidney Day, we have distributed brochures to people. We have given to people campaign magnets which underline the significance of making people more conscious about their lifestyle choices and habits. We have also volunteered to measure the blood tension and glucose levels of the people who have participated in our awareness-raising activities. Last but not least, we have invited everyone to drink a glass of water as a symbolic gesture to make them realize that kidneys are vital organs.
