This year 2016 the Nephrology society of Tanzania (NESOT), in partnership with the Ministry of Health and Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Centre will be hosting a 2 days medical camp in northern Tanzania to raise awareness towards prevention and treatment of Kidney and cardiovascular diseases in our country. The advocacy will mainly be focusing on mass screening for diseases that are contributing to kidney complications including Hypertension, Diabetes mellitus and obesity. Furthermore kidney diseases will be screened, Patients identified at risk and patients with kidney diseases will be followed up in renal clinics. Additionally, we are planning a media campaign for the whole week in which WKD falls to provide health education and raise awareness about kidney diseases.
