The Green Campaign is a global awareness and sensitization program launched by Iya Foundation Founder Iya Bekondo-Granatella to raise awareness about kidney and organ donation in conjunction with World Kidney Day. In this 2023 session, the IYA Foundation took the reins both online and offline to ensure that everyone has access to information about kidney disease. This was accomplished by launching a content creation challenge that spreads knowledge of CKD through fun and entertaining media that both young and old can learn from and enjoy. We were able to reach out to 1000+ people via this online medium, and they committed to consuming the content and providing valuable feedback. On the physical front, we conducted free screening campaigns in the heart of Cameroon’s southwest region, where over 450 people received free diabetes, hypertension, and estimated glumerular filtration rate measurements. The activities culminated in a massive Kidney Health Walk and aerobics exercise in which over 500 people took part. In conclusion, this year’s kidney health awareness campaigns impacted over 2,000 people directly and countless others indirectly.
