Firm Health Ghana Foundation collaborated with Ministry of Interior, Ghana Refugee Board and United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) organized a free medical screening and consultation for the residents of Ampain Community and the refugees at the Ampain Refugee Camp at the Ampain Refugee Camp. The exercise which was on the theme “Kidney Disease and Children, Act Early to Prevent It” commenced at exactly 9:00am with a health talk on kidney health delivered by Dr. Joseph Darko (Head of Medical Services). The talk which was delivered via the camp community radio ended around 9:45 am after which the medical screening commenced. More than 800 community members and refugees benefitted from the screening and outreach program. Thirty Five (35) refugees were tested positive for diabetes whilst Nineteen (19) of tested positive for hypertension. Seven (7) cases of hyenia and one (1) case of fibroid were recorded respectively.
