Join us for an online Zoom gathering for anyone who is interested in health education to prevent chronic kidney disease. The Healthy Kidneys Education Project, created by Filter Your Future, aims to reduce the incidence of preventable kidney disease by educating children how to keep their kidneys healthy and avoid type 2 diabetes, the major cause of renal failure. Our project targets primary school children aged 5-12 years in Australia and New Zealand. The focus is on educating future generations about the importance of healthy kidneys. Our speakers: Grant: “Better kidney care…what I learnt on my kidney journey” Yvonne: “Kidney health for all…why it’s important to educate children about kidneys” Ashton: “Bridge the knowledge gap…know your kidney numbers” The Dialysis and Transplant Association of Victoria (D.A.T.A.) is based in Melbourne, Australia. This year we are celebrating 50 years since a group of friends set up a self-help support group and created the ShoeString Newsletter for those whose lives are impacted by chronic kidney disease. In our video, D.A.T.A. members Darren, Ros, Ashton, Grant, and Yvonne reflect on some of the special impacts, memories, and achievements of DATA throughout the past 50 years. We are especially excited to share news with the global kidney community about the Healthy Kidneys Education Project, sponsored by D.A.T.A.
