At Imperial College we care for 5% of the United Kingdom population treated with dialysis, with 6 people starting treatment each week in West London. We are a proud ISN Sister Renal Centre to Sri Jayawardenepura Hospital in Colombo Sri Lanka where our colleagues face the same challenges in the resource poor environment of a low middle economy. Mortality, patient suffering, needs and experience determine the challenges to be met by this Dialysis Academy. Our patients have described the gap between aspiration and experience which we must bridge. This Dialysis Academy teaching will be delivered by many partner centres in the UK and the World and timed to celebrate World Kidney Day 2023. We will use relevant data, evidence and experience to educate and inspire. We welcome medics, nurses, pharmacists and therapists to join as committed delegates in our interactive sessions from Imperial College, and also all other NHS Trusts in the UK and colleagues form across the World.
