Level 2 Baking students from Blackpool and The Fylde College have been doing their bit for the community this week – making beautiful cakes to help the Lancashire and South Cumbria Kidney Patient Association raise awareness. Between them, they baked over 200 Cup cakes and fairy cakes with original and wonderful artwork atop the delicious cakes. The Pièce De Résistance was a gorgeous iced cake which was raffled off to raise money for Kidney Awareness. Cupcakes were sold at the hospital on World Kidney Day and also at the Dialysis Choices meeting at the Tickled Trout Hotel the following Saturday. Hospital patients, relatives, friends and members of staff were more than generous raising over £200 in total for the charities.
