In Japan, 13,300,000 patients are estimated to have Chronic kidney disease (CKD) from various causes and 40,000 patients per year need to start renal replacement therapy. A medical society of the kidney in Kyoto was newly established last year to study the prevention and treatment of CKD. This event aims to raise awareness of the importance of our kidneys to our overall health and to reduce the frequency and impact of kidney disease and its associated health problem.
