The Ministry of Health, in partnership with Africa Healthcare Network, will be hosting an awareness walk to raise awareness in Rwanda of the causes of kidney disease, ways of preventing the disease and its progression and treatment modalities for patients suffering from AKI or ESRD. We will start with a 5km walk from the Amahoro Stadium around the city and back to the stadium, at which point the stadium will be set-up with live music, informational speeches about the organ and kidney disease (ways of preventing AKI and CKD, slowing the progression of CKD, managing the disease and treatment modalities), and informational booths. Additionally, we would envision setting up free-testing booths where basic tests for kidney function can be done and where Rwandans can get additional information.
