World Kidney Day Awareness Program by SLSON

In parallel with World Kidney Day on March 13th, 2025, and as part of Kidney Week starting from March 10th, we are organizing an initiative focused on raising awareness about kidney health.
As a part of that, a special health forum has been organized to raise public awareness on 12th March 2025 at Sri Lanka Foundation Institute, Colombo  from 8am onwards. The theme for the event is “Detect early, protect kidney health” and the event will engage school children as active participants.
The programme will feature a press conference involving main electronic media providers in Sri Lanka, the launch of a YouTube channel of Sri Lanka Society of Nephrology, an educational forum for school children, and an engaging quiz to educate the students on kidney health. Dr. Asela Goonewardena, Director General of Health Services and Dr. Lakshmi Somatunga, Additional Secretary (Public Health Services) of Ministry of Health will attend as guests.
