1) Release of a booklet on the management of early-stage CKD for primary care physicians
2) Initiation of a statewide CKD prevalence survey (STEPS survey). This is a collaborative project between the Nephrology and Community Medicine departments of Madras Medical College. Fifty teams over 5 days will cover 5300 subjects across the state
3) A World Kidney Day pledge to promote healthy lifestyles to preserve renal health and spread awareness of kidney disease
