Walkathon & Road show at Besant Nagar beach

TANKER Foundation and Dr Mehta’s Hospitals came together to
organise a walkathon and hold a road show ahead of World Kidney
Day Sunday, March 10, 2024, at Besant Nagar Beach, Chennai.
The walkathon was flagged off by actors Mr. Mathew Verghese, Mr.
Ilavarasu and Mr. Aravinth Sundar by releasing colourful balloons.
The interactive road show, ‘Know Your Kidneys’, written and directed
by Mr. Aravinth Sundar, featuring artistes Ms. Anoosha, Mr. Murali,
Mr. Vatsan and Mr. Vikas, preceded the walkathon and was a big hit
with the people who had gathered for the walkathon, and the
general public.
From kids to celebrities, people enthusiastically joined the walkathon
with the young girls raising slogans on how to take care of kidneys.
They held placards with the message ‘Kidney Health for All’.
One enterprising kid, who joined the walkathon, went around
distributing pamphlets on kidney health to the general public,
security guards and roadside vendors.
TANKER Foundation Managing Trustee, Mrs. Latha A. Kumaraswami,
introduced the celebrity guests and explained the motto of World
Kidney Day – Kidney Health for All.
TANKER Advisory Member, Mrs. Sudha Lakshmi Rao, was an active
participant.
The guests of honour were presented the TANKER memento in
appreciation of their participation.
Caps and pamphlets on taking care of kidneys were distributed to
members of the public.
