Since 2013, Manusath Derana, the humanitarian arm of Sri Lanka’s No. 1 television network, TV Derana, has been holding health clinics to detect kidney disease early in regions of the country where it is common. We have held 76 such medical camps since then. In honor of World Kidney Day, Manusath Derana will dedicate the BIG Focus TV show to the occasion. The ministry of health’s secretary and two additional experts in renal disease prevention will be featured on the show. The program aims to raise awareness about the importance of early detection of kidney disease. It also focuses on prompt testing for at-risk individuals and understanding risk factors, aligning with the goals of the “Are Your Kidneys OK?” World Kidney Day 2025 campaign. Emphasizing the importance of early detection and prevention, it highlights the need for timely intervention, immediate testing for at-risk individuals, and understanding risk factors to prevent kidney disease. The experts will highlight the significance of adopting healthy habits like staying well-hydrated, following a balanced diet, and engaging in regular physical activity to prevent kidney disease and enhance overall well-being. In addition, Manusath Derana will dedicate our 78th medical camp for World Kidney Day in order to raise awareness and provide free health screenings for early detection of kidney disease.
