We have invited 90 year 9 & 10 biology students to our trust.
We will have interactive tables with our highly trained staff to help them learn and understand as much about Kidney Health and Kidney Care as possible. Here, we hope to open their minds to the pioneers who made dialysis possible and teach them how to avoid unhealthy kidneys and what to do if you find yourself or relatives unwell with kidney issues. We have our prosthetic friends who will be joining us for visual effects and our team of pro’s including dietitians, AKI team and lead nephrologist will all be on hand to create a vibrant learning experience. We will also have our Organ donation and transplant team with us, in hope that we can encourage the students to have open discussion with their own families about joining registers and making a difference to the lives of others. Obviously, We will be providing personalised freebies including lanyards and pens along with refreshments and nibbles.
Once we have dismissed the students, we will have 1 hour to prep for the afternoon sessions as we will be reaching out to the staff at the trust to encourage better fluid and medicines management and here, we shall share some of the latest research information and inform everyone of our future plans. We are very much looking forward to WKD 2025 and look forward to sharing the outcomes with you.
