World Kidney Day is March 13th Theme: Are Your Kidneys OK?  Detect early, protect kidney health It is estimated that 850 million people worldwide have chronic kidney disease (CKD) due to various causes.  That means approximately one in ten adults has CKD. The major risk factors for kidney disease are:
  • Diabetes
  • High blood pressure (hypertension)
  • Heart (cardiovascular) disease
  • Being overweight (obesity)
  • Family history of kidney disease
