Kraków: Kidney Health Walk at Kościuszko Mound
On March 29th, Kraków hosted the “Kidney Health Walk,” an educational and preventive action on the occasion of World Kidney Day. Over 120 people participated in the event, which aimed to raise awareness about kidney diseases and promote a healthy lifestyle.
Participants, including seniors, families, and doctors, had the opportunity to take advantage of free tests such as BMI measurement, urine test, blood sugar measurement, and body composition analysis.
As part of the nationwide campaign, of which the Kraków walk was a part, a total of 1,500 creatinine tests were performed in 5 Polish cities.
During the event, educational lectures were also held. A nephrologist discussed the most common kidney diseases, their symptoms, and treatment methods. A dietitian presented dietary recommendations for people with kidney diseases and general healthy eating principles aimed at preventing kidney problems.
The walk was an opportunity to collectively take care of health, gain valuable knowledge, and take advantage of free health checkups.
