This awareness program has been collaborated with the Adams College School, specifically with grade 11 students. The Durban University, Clinical Technology 2nd year students will be creating an awareness for Kidney disease, They will be specifically highlighting the roles of endocrine and cardiac systems (Diabetes & Hypertension). Students will be doing this as an integrated practical session. For those students that grant consent, blood pressure will be taken. Basic pamphlets will be distributed. The Biomedical and Clinical Technology department would be hosting a small program of basic presentations. Our support as a programme is to educate our learners and community, ie. Scholars grade 11 ( this is a large number approx 300) so we starting to target this group. This awareness that will be instilled in our 2nd year students to will also cultivate community engagement and continuous development to these young professionals.
