Están bien tus riñones? Evento conmemorativo al día mundial del riñón?

The “Hospital Para el Niño Poblano” is a reference pediatric public institution. We are located in Puebla, México. There is a lack of health promotion/prevention in our community and it is common to find patients in advanced stages of the disease. That it is why we organized an academic and screening program for hospital workers, patients, their relatives and the general population. 

On march 13th, we are going to start with the screening campaign (7:00-9:00):

• Questionary about risk factors
• Measures: weight, height, BMI, vital signs, abdominal perimeter, capilar glucose, urine dipstick.
• In those with abnormal results we will take samples for serum creatinine and albuminuria/creatinuria in urine spot. 

Once the person has completed the screening, he/she will assist to 4 conferences of promotion/prevention of renal health from different perspectives: nephrologist, nephrology nurse, psychologist and social worker. During the brake, children will participate in a drawing contest. Thereafter, a pediatric patient with ESKD and her mother will share their experience. Finally we will share the screening results with the audience and close the program (13:00). 

Pertinent reference to medical attention will be provided to those detected with kidney disease.
