2021 Impact Report

In 2021, World Kidney Day was marked on March 11. The campaign aims to increase education and awareness about effective symptom management and patient empowerment, with the ultimate goal of encouraging the meaningful participation in everyday life of people living with kidney disease.

The current diseasecentric approach does not fully reflect the patients’ priorities and values regarding living well with the disease. Effective strategies can help minimize the burden of CKDrelated symptoms to improve patient satisfaction, quality of life, and ultimately life participation.

The Impact Report of WKD 2021 takes a look at some of the actions and how the collective efforts this past 11 March made a strong and fruitful impact worldwide. Thanks to all World Kidney Day 2021 Supporters & Champions!

The global report provides an approximate summary of the overall impact of World Kidney Day 2021, as we could not possibly cover in detail all the generous individual and collective efforts that took place this past March 11. However, we are happily sharing regional reports that our champions kindly provided us with. Please take a look at the PDFs to have a better understanding of activities organised in various countries and regions.

Thank you to our official World Kidney Day supporters, whose generous financial contribution enables us to carry on.
