Getting Ready

It's been hectic getting everything organised for World Kidney Day

Getting t-shirts printed and posters sorted

Firstly we had to decide what it was that we were going to do

As we are a new group we decided that getting the word out was important

Not many people would have heard of World Kidney Day as where I live Renal issues are not well advertised something we as a support group have done a lot to change with various fund raising events and we have also had a lot of newspaper coverage

Especially with a man called Robert Smyth who is going for his transplant on the 9th March the day before World Kidney Day

His story made the front page of our local newspapers and also made the news on the internet

We are also bringing forward the importance of carrying a Donor Card and being a donor

We are having two main displays one in our local shopping centre which the mayor will be attending and one in the main entrance to our hospital which is a large hospital and will have many visitors per day
