As we move nearer the D-Day, we are all excited here at the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital Renal Unit,Sagamu, Nigeria.

In addition to usual (anatomy and physiology) classroom discussions concerning kidney function -- their filtering capacity and, also, in their dominant role in global homeostatic regulations, I have successfully been able to increase "nephro awareness" among "non-medical" faculty members having down loaded and made many copies of the highly informative, yet easy to understand pamphlets provided on-line by WKD.
As a member of Parish Health Ministries in my Church, I have been able, also, to distribute these packets among fellow parishioners (in which there are three persons who are aware that they have CKD, it is frightening to consider how many people are totally oblivious to the status of their kidneys) during our after-Mass Coffee Shop.
The photo album that you have included on your site is uplifting as well as exciting!
Sorry about the wrong date provided.
WKD 2010 would be commemorated on 11th March 2010.
It will focus on Diabetes and Kidney Disease as its a major contributor to the exponential increase in the prevalence of CKD worldwide.
Let us all start planning from now so as to be able to stem the rising prevalence of chronic kidney disease.
Kind regards.
