Since I was diagnosed with kidney disease real young, growing up I had the opportunity to be part of a support group (it was actually the parent's support group but through it I got to meet many as young as me with kidney disease as well and not feel so alone). So when the support group ended and my first transplant failed I felt lost and felt the need for support once again. So I started up my 2nd website (the first was a personal hobby site that closed in 1999) in 2002. This site was on a free server which still is up today but redirects to the current site. The current site is the 2nd paid domain as I lost the first one due to it being in someone else's name. So KidneyKorner has been up since 2008 even though the kidney support site that was originally started by me has been around since 2002.
If you would like to visit the KidneyKorner it is open and free to join the forums for anyone who is in any way associated with kidney disease, even if it is just by curiosity. As long as you don't spam and are civil to each other since there are many different backgrounds and stages on the forums, we can all get along and support each other. With all that we go through with kidney disease we don't need to also be against each other.
The site url is
kidneykorner.com and the forums are all
kidneykorner.com/smfbb.
I have been on Peritoneal Dialysis twice (both CAPD and CCPD - Baxter and Fresenius) and Hemo Dialysis (incenter only, Fresenius 2008H and 2008K) and have had 2 kidney transplants so far as well as a bilateral nephrectomy (2 months apart from each other).
