Many people are currently not aware that their kidneys are damaged and they might find out too late. Dialysis and transplantation can be prevented if kidney diseases are detected early. As a patient—there is something you can do—share your story and raise awareness of the risk factors for kidney disease with friends family and people you meet and you might just save a life!
There are ways to act to improve the healthcare situation in your country. Get in contact with your national kidney foundation to see how you can participate in the government outreach efforts in your country. We also recommend that you read the government outreach toolkit where you will tips on how to reach out to your national healthcare authorities.
Send us your story at info@worldkidneyday.org or send it to your local media. For help on how to reach out to the media, click here.
