Do you see, in your practice, much evidence of the "salt thrifty" gene?

I am most interested in your exciting organization.  As an educator, dedicated to learning as much as possible about our amazing kidneys, I always look forward to contacting persons with expertise and knowledge, far greater than mine, from whom to learn.

I teach anatomy and physiology, and, also anthropology.  I am, as a result, keenly interested in the differing physiological andaptations that typify the world's human populations.  Among persons inhabiting the equatorial regions of this planet, vaso dilation -- which, in the absence of an ability to retain sodium sufficient to maintain an optimal blood pressure -- would prevail, inducing dangerously low blood pressure among human inhabitants, but for the selection of perpetual increase in plasma sodium concentration.  Please tell me something of the persons under your care.
